The Museum of fishing has celebrated last year its 40 years of existence.

In its debuts, the Museum of the fishing, the first establishment of this type in France, presented on 160 m2 of the exhibition some models, explanatory panels and maritime aquariums. Recognized from the 1970's as one of the most beautiful maritime museums of the world, it becomes in 1987 the first museum with French stream, by integrating into its circuit of visit a deep-sea trawler of 34 metres, Hemerica.

In 40 years of existence, on a today multiplied tenfold exhibition space, the Museum is happy to have attracted and seduced three million guests.

The Museum of the fishing suggests you today coming to appreciate its new organizations and to turn you on its history to rediscover its collections under a new day.

The temporary exhibition dedicated to the 40 years of the Museum of the fishing suggests you knowing better the history of this historic and technical center, its evolutions in the course of decades, but also what gave it its identity so particular: aquariums, models and floating museum.

Within the framework of this exhibition, the Museum of the fishing has the pleasure to go out of its reserves of numerous usually inaccessible objects. Presented to the public for the occasion, these objects amaze by their precious or unusual character.

The permanent collection will not be aside of the festivities: stakes in light of certain particularly striking objects in the history of the Museum will mark out crosses it of the guest before the access to the temporary showroom.
